General Rules LRP-HPI-Challenge:

General:

·  The base for the LRP-HPI Challenge rules are the DMC Rules, unless the LRP-HPI Challenge rules say something else. In case of doubt the LRP-HPI Challenge rules will count.

·  Everything that is not explicitly allowed is forbidden!

·  In case of doubt the German rules will count!

·  Smaller pinions and larger spur gears are allowed.

·  If any organising club does one driver not want to start, it must be discussed with the LRP-HPI Challenge management. The LRP-HPI Challenge management may exclude drivers from racing, without telling the reason.

·  The start number must not be placed on any window on the body. Reason: More Scale-Look.

·  The body must be trimmed. The wheels must not be covered by the body.

·  If one round of qualifying takes less than 60 minutes, the duartion of the heats may be raised according to the rules. For the classes where the duration is not stricly stated the race director decides how long the finals will be. He should ask the drivers and the technical commissioners but it is his final decision that counts.

·  The race director decides if the race will be stopped or canceled in case of rain. He should hear the drivers about their opinion but he finally decides.

·  If there are more than 5 events during the season the points of your 2 worst events will be deleted. More than 10 = 3, more than 15 = 4, and so on. If there is equality in points, the single highest result will count. If there is still equality the number of races will decide.

·  All cars in the Classic, Rookie and Formel-1 Challenge must be built according to the manual. The positions of shocks, camber links and the wheelbase may be changed.

·  Ball bearings on all axes may be changed.

·  The HPI Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak body is forbidden in all classes.

·  Classic, Rookie and Formel-1 class: The following parts may be bought from other manufacturers. ALL parts must be commercially available. Common parts like:

    · Pinions (the number of teeth must be clearly marked)

    · Screws, nuts, wheelnuts and washers (all made from steel)

    · Motor heatsinks

    · Servo arms

    · Springs to adjust a gear differential (# H72215, if it fits for the car)

    · Antenna pipes und mounts

    · Receiver battery mounts

    · Body pins und transponder mounts

    · Shock spacers (to adjust drive height) and shock-oil

·  Aluminium wheel nuts may be used in the Classic-Challenge and in the Formel-1 Challenge.

·  The motors may only be run in original condition, unless the rules say something else.

·  If you use substances to clean your tires, that are not especially named as tire aditives in the rules, these substances have to be volatile. Volatile substances are e.g. #65120 LRP Blue Factor X-Tra Cleaner 2 or brake cleaner. So any lubricating substance is forbidden.

·  Qualifying:

Germany: qualifying will be run with the EFRA point system. The Fastest of each round of qualifying will get 0 points. Second place gets 2 point, third 3 points, fourth 4 points, and so on. With three rounds of qualifying 1 result will count. With 4 or more rounds of qualifying the best 2 results will count. If there is equality of points the single highest result will decide. If there is still equality of points laps and time of the single highest result will decide. If there is still equality laps and time of the second best result will decide.

Austria: the qualifying will be run by laps + time. Only the best qualifying round counts. If there are 4 or more qualifying rounds, 2 rounds will count.

·  Finals in Austria and Germany:
The finals will be run according to the EFRA point system for finals. The winner of a final gets 1 point. Second place gets 2 points, third 3 points, and so on. With 3 finals being run, 2 will count. With 2 finals being run, 1 will count. If there is equality of points the single best result will decide. If there is still equality, the laps and time of the best (by points) final will decide. If there is still equality the laps and time of the second counted final will decide.

·  Qualification for German Championship: At least you have to race at three events (no matter in which class) to be allowed to start. All drivers who finished in the A-Main at a German Championship in the classes EGTWSC, HEGTWSC or (H)EGTWMO may not start for three years at an LRP-HPI Challenge German Championship. If a driver reaches one of these finals two months or shorter before the German Championship, this rule counts from the following year.

·  Qualification for Austrian Championship: At least you have to race at three events in the class you want to start in at the Austrian Championship to be allowed to start. All drivers who finished in the Top 10 during the last two years in an ÖFMAV Austrian Championship class (except standard class) are not allowed to race at the LRP-HPI Challenge Austrian Championship. Classes with less than 30 participants do not count.

·  If you won a German or Austrian Championship in the GTI/Classic class, you may not start in the GTI/Classic class. If you won a German or Austrian Championship in the Stock class (until 2009), you may only start in the Stock class. This limitation is only counting for the German and Austrian Championship and for three years from the date of your victory.

·  LiPo charging rules:
    · A maximum voltage of 8.40V may not be exceeded. This may be checked by the technical commissioner at any time. The voltage on his voltmeter is deciding.

       · If your battry voltage is above 8.40V, you may discharge the battery and start in your race. If the battery voltage is above 8.44V you may not run your race!

       · Discharging of the battery has to be done with a charger/discharger or by accelerating the motor. It is explicitly forbidden to discharge the battery by driving on the track.

       · The process of discharging the battery may not take any influence on the timetable. It is not the race director's duty to wait for that driver.
    · For charging you have to use a common, commercial available LiPo balancer. This balancer has to be connected to the battery throughout the entire charging process. A LiPo safetybag is not mandatory.
    · The external heating of the battery is specificly forbidden.
    · The hardcase may not be slivered or ground to the core. In particular: the cells must always be covered.
    · Not following these above written rules can lead to severe penalties (not being allowed to start at this heat, having to leave the event, ...).
